Under the Special Access Route scheme, the Sinovac-CoronaVac (Sinovac) COVID-19 vaccine has been approved by the Ministry of Health for use in Singapore. The vaccine will allow more residents to be vaccinated, as part of our fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Sinovac vaccine is suitable for:

Adults aged 18 years or older

Individuals who could not take mRNA vaccines
earlier due to anaphylaxis (allergic reaction)

Proven Effective, Safe for Use

The World Health Organisation’s (WHO) vaccine efficacy trials show that the Sinovac vaccine:

Has a 51% efficacy rate

Prevented hospitalisation and severe COVID-19 in 100% of vaccinated individuals

Real world studies have demonstrated higher vaccine efficacy.

How It Works

WHO recommends two doses, taken 2 – 4 weeks apart

Sinovac contains an inactivated coronavirus that cannot cause the disease, when injected into your body.

Your immune system learns to produce antibodies to fight against the virus. This immune response is triggered if you encounter a live virus to protect your body.
